An extremely corroded and bent copper alloy post-medieval 'rose' farthing Charles I (r.1625-1649), dating to the period 1636-1644, of Type 2 or 3 North 2291-2293 Description: Obv.: [Single Arched crown, with two sceptre in saltire through or below]. Leg.: '[CAROLV(S) D G MA(G) BR(I)]' Obv.: Rose surmounted by single arched crown. Leg.: [FR(AN) ET HIB]. Coin is highly worn and surface is pitted little detail is visible and none of the legends is discernable. Measurements: 14.08mm in diamter, 1.18mm thick and 0.9g in weight.
