A copper hammered probable coin dating to the Post Medieval period, about 1597-1663: probably a Scottish twopence, or 'turner' of James VI (1567-1625), Charles I (1625-1649), or Charles II (1649-1685), and most likely one of the 1642, 1644, 1648 or 1650 issues of Charles I. However, it is only the size and form of the coin which suggests such an identification; it is illegible. It has a diameter of 17.77mm, a thickness of 0.93mm, and weighs 0.98g.

A copper alloy hammered coin dating from the Post Medieval period: probably a Scottish twopence, or 'Turner' of Charles I (1625-1649) struck 1632-1639. Although the coin is almost entirely illegible, it is possible to discern a distinct beaded inner circle, corresponding with that on the reverse of the Earl of Stirling coinage, Spink 5599 (2015, p. 94). It is this and the size, shape and weight (that noted in Spink for the issue is 13 grains, which equals 0.84g) of the coin which inform the suggested identification. A complete, copper, Scottish twopence of Charles I. Known as a Turner or Bodle. These coins were struck in four yeras, 1642, 1644, 1648 and 1650. The coin is worn, especially around the edges. On the obverse is a crown abover CR, on the reverse a thistle with two leaves. There is a green patina over the majority of the coin. Diameter 19.6mm, thickness 1.5mm, weight 3.0g. Seaby: 5598-5601
