A hammered silver Scottish twenty pence of Charles I (AD 1625-1649) probably from Falconer's Anonymous Issue / fifth coinage dating from c. AD 1637 - 1641. The obverse bust and value are no longer visible but the legend is clear, as is the lozenge mint mark. The reverse has the crowned double leaf thistle. The coin in poor condition with the obverse bust and value erased.

The coin is marked with the initial F above the crown on the reverse, which was the mark of John Falconer, the son-in-law of the French moneyer Nicholas Briot, who became the master of the Scottish mint in 1633 and was joined by Falconer later and succeeded Briot in 1646.
