A partially worn complete silver Post-Medieval shilling of Charles I (AD 1625-1649), North's Group F (North 2232), star initial mark dating to AD1640-1641.
Description: Obv: Crowned bust, of sixth (Briot) style, facing left, with denomination XII behind bust. Bust has been heavily worn although the rest of the obverse is sharp. Leg.: '+CARO[LVS D G] MAG BRI FRA ET H REX'. Rev.: Royal shield over cross moline. Leg.: '+CHR[ISTO ]AVSPICE REGNO'. There is a slight nnick in the circumference of the coin at about 5 o'clock.

Silver shilling of Charles I. Legends are missing. Obverse displays a very worn crowned bust facing left with XII behind the head. The crown extends beyond the inner circle towards the edge of the coin. The reverse has a garnished oval shield with C R at sides. The coin dates to between 1625 and 1649.

A hammered silver Charles I (1625-1649) shilling. The obverse has a crowned bust left with XII behind, within an apparently solid circle. The legend is badly damaged, probably clipped. The reverse has a shield with the four nations represented, there are plumes at the ends of the arms of the cross lines, this is within an apparently solid circle. The legend is badly damaged.
