A complete post medieval silver gilded, and pierced, penny of Charles I (1625-1649) dating to the period 1641-1649. Group D, mint mark: two pellets, North (1991) no. 2267. The coin is pierced at 2 o’clock looking from the obverse side.
Obverse: Crowned bust left.
Legend: CAROLVS DG [MAG] [FRA] ET HIB [REX].
Reverse: Garnished shield in a wreath with C R either side. No inner circles.
Legend: IVSTITIA THROMVM FIRMAT.
