The coin is very worn on both obverse and reverse, the fan irregular in shape, its weight suggesting that it has been heavily clipped. The coin is also doublestruck seen mostly in misalignment of the inner circle and breaks in the inscrptions.

An incomplete clipped silver Post Medieval shilling of Charles I (1625-1649), Group F, sixth bust, dating AD 1625-1649. Minted at the Tower of London. As North 1991, p. 160, nos. 2231-2232. The coin has been clipped so that only the lower part of some of the legend is legible.
