An  incomplete silver sixpence of Charles I, dating from 1633-4.  North 2240 This coin is slightly clipped and part of the edge is ragged after damage has removed some material.  It is 25.1mm in diameter, 0.6mm thick and weighs 2.9g. Obverse: crowned bust facing left.  VI behind the bust. The face is worn away although the crown and legend are clear.  This coin may have been deliberately defaced as a show of anti-royalist support.  Legend: CAROLUS.D.G.'MA.B[RI.FRA.ET.]HI.REX.  Initial mark: portcullis. Reverse:  garnished oval with C.…
