The coin is in poor condition, bent and badly chipped removing parts of the edge of the coin, now irregular in shape. This is exacerbated by evidence for clipping on other parts of the coin. The wear and abrasion of the surface has removed some details of the design. The C R either side of the oval shield on the reverse and the lack of inner circles places the coin in Group D.

A complete, silver plated copper alloy contemporary copy of a Half Crown of Charles I (AD 1625-1649). Group IV, fourth horseman type. Oval garnished shield reverse. Triangle in circle initial mark. As London mint under Parliament. AD 1641-1643.
Diameter: 33.77mm, Thickness: 1.68mm, Weight: 10.5g
The flan of the coin is irregular, with the copper alloy core being exposed within the central field on the reverse. The obverse is double struck between 9-11 O’clock.
