A pierced Charles I (1625-1649) silver half groat. Fourth bust with King facing left with mark of value II behind within inner circle. The coin is pierced neatly just below the 'II' behind the king's head. Probably group D North 2256/7. The coin is heavily worn making it difficult to determine all of the details. Obverse: Bust, f. left, 'II', CAROLUS D G [MAG BRI FR ET HIB REX] Reverse: Oval garnished shield within inner circle. [IUSTITIA T] HRON [VM F] IRMAT The coin is very worn in places, especially on the obverse, where the king's face is almost completely removed.
