A Postmedieval copper alloy rose farthing of Charles I (1625-1649). Rose Type 2 or Type 3, dating to 1636-1644 (North 2291-2293). The obverse depicts a crown with sceptres through it and the reverse a crowned rose. The initial mark is illegible. The coin measures 13.3mm in diameter and weighs 0.75g. It is fairly worn with damage to one side resulting in the loss of part of the obverse and reverse legends. Reference: North, J. J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume 2.
