A post-Medieval copper alloy farthing token of Charles I (1625-49), Rose type (North 2287-93), not further defined. Ref: North 1991: 165. The coin is very worn and corroded resulting in few diagnostic features remaining. The sceptres crossed through a crown can be seen on one side (obverse) and a rose on the other (reverse). Charles I reigned from 1625 - 1649 AD, when he was executed, and a Commonwealth established in lieu of a Monarchy. Dimensions: Weight: 0.62g Max.diameter: 13mm

The coin is in poor condition, bent and badly chipped removing parts of the edge of the coin, now irregular in shape. This is exacerbated by evidence for clipping on other parts of the coin.
