A copper alloy, cut half of a Charles I Rose farthing c. 1636 - 1644 AD. Obverse with a crown with two sceptres in saltire, reverse with a crowned rose. The coin may have a misspelt legend, leading to the possibility of a contemporary fake farthing, of which, there were a great many.

A silver penny of Charles I, 1625-1649 AD. Double rose to obverse and reverse, no inner circle. The legends are also very uneven and look to be incorrect and/or misspelt, the coin may therefore be a contemporary forgery. The coin is on an uneven flan or perhaps clipped and it has a double bend in the form of a possible love token. cf. 2261.

A Rose farthing of Charles I, c. 1625 - 1649 AD. Obverse with Crown with crossed sceptres, reverse with Double rose expanded, crown above. There is a clear 'wedge' at about the 12 o-clock, indicative of this being a Maltravers Rose Farthing, Type 1- (1635 - 1645 AD) . That wedge of brass has clearly eroded differently from the copper element of the coin. The surface is heavily eroded.
