The coin is bent, possibly intentionally folded, in two. Consequently only the reverse is entirely visible; crowned thistle with the legend I[VST]ITIA THRO[NVM] FIRAT. Unusually, the M in 'FIRMAT' has been omitted. The coin is 15.8mm in diameter, 2.2m thick (the flan is 0.65mm) and weighs 0.65g.
