A worn and clipped half groat of Charles I (1625-1649). Ref: North (1997): Group D - Probably no. 2258. The obverse has a bust of the king with the value II behind the head. The reverse has a shield and both sides of the coin have inner circles.
Mint: London (Tower). Initial mark: circular, possibly triangle in circle.
