Incomplete and heavily corroded Post Medieval silver coin. Very little detail remains but the coin is probably a Scottish twenty pence of Charles I (AD 1625-1649), dating to circa AD 1637-1642. Poor quality silver.

Silver Scottish twenty pence of Charles I, Edinburgh, Falconer's issue with an F at the end of the reverse legend, 1637-42. Gilded on both sides and with neat (approx 1.5mm diameter) piercings just inside the inner circles at approximately 5 o'clock and 11 o'clock (on the obverse). This reuse places the coin in the category of an object and thus it qualifies as Treasure under the 1997 Treasure Act.
