A clipped post-medieval shilling of Charles I (1625-49) Description: Struck silver shilling of Charles I (1625-49), group E (5th Aberystwyth bust), anchor intial mark, dating to 1628-9. Anchor mintmark on the reverse, struck at the Tower of London. North (1991) no. 2229. The edges of the coin seem to have been lightly clipped in places, clear images on both sides with some light wear. Measurements: Diameter 29.55mm, thickness 0.92mm and weight 5.83g.
