A worn and heavily clipped Charles I (r. 1626-1649) sixpence of Group F with sixth bust, North 2246, triangle in circle mintmark. Minted between 1641-3 at London, Tower Mint. Bust shows significant wear compared to other features of the coin, possibly denoting its use as a lucky charm or intentional attempts to desecrate the kings image.

A fragment of worn silver sixpence of Charles I (r. 1625-1649). Minted between 1636 and 1638 at the Tower of London with tun mint mark, North No, 2241. Obverse: Crowned Bust left with VI behind (Fourth Bust), '[+CARO]LVS [D G MAG BRI FR] ET [HIB REX]'. Reverse: Garnished round shield, '+[CHRISTO AU]SPIC[E REGINO]'. Bust extensively worn, despite the fact that legend is sharp. Seems likely king's bust inteionally defeaced. Coin has been bent and snapped and the coin is missing from roughly 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock and then 4/5 o'clock to 7 o'clock.
