An incomplete silver hammered coin dating from the early Post Medieval period: a groat of Henry VIII (1509-1547). Third Coinage, 1544-47, N. 1844-1848; or Posthumous Coinage, 1547-51, struck under Edward VI, N. 1871-1876. Probably Mint of York. The coin is worn and much abraded. It appears to have been burned and rolled, and as a consequence has broken into two pieces. The coin (with both fragments together) is 22.4mm in diameter and 2mm thick. It weighs 1.60g
