A silver Post Medieval Irish groat of Henry VIII (AD 1509-1547), first Harp issue, dating to AD 1534-1535. Mint of Bristol. Cf Seaby p. 133, no. 6472. The coin survives in three pieces, two of which are cut quarters and the third is a cut half. The cut half has been folded widthwise. According to the finder the two quarters were found in the fold of the cut half. The reason of the practice is unknown.
