A fragment of a post-medieval silver sixpence of Edward VI (1547-53), third period dating 1550-53 (North 1939), mint: York, initial mark: mullet. Ref: North 1991: 123.   The coin is worn and fragmented, with only around a quarter of the coin surviving . The breaks are straight but uneven suggested the coin has not been cut.  Length: 16.25 mm; Weight: 0.75g.

A very worn, silver Post Medieval groat of Edward VI (AD 1547-1553) and minted AD 1552-1553. Third Period. Pierced mullet initial mark. Minted in York. There is a short tear (c. 5.00mm) at 3 o'clock and a longer tear (c. 11.85mm) around 8 o'clock that corresponds to a forward bend from 8 o'clock to half past 1 on the obverse. Obverse description: Crowned bust facing with rose to the left of the head and VI to the right. Obverse inscription: EDWARD VI D G AGL FRA [Z] HIB REX.
