Post medieval coin; struck silver halfgroat of Henry VII, York mint Episcopal issue for Archbishop Savage, dating to 1501-c.1507. Martlet initial mark. Obv. Crowned facing bust of king within tressure of arches. Key to either side of neck. Crown has two arches. H[ENR]IC.D[I.GR]A.REX.AGL.Z.F. Rev. Long cross pattee which divides the legend. Three pellets in each quadrant. POSVI/DE[I.AD/I]VTO/[R.]MEV // CIVI/TA[S/E]BO/RACI Diameter 20.70mm, thickness 0.62mm, weight 1.26g Ref: North ‘English Hammered Coinage’ vol. II (pp. 102, no. 1716)
