A replica of Cnut of Northumbria (c. 900 - 905). This coin was found in an area of known Viking Age re-enactments and was examined by the FLO and Dr John Naylor, and was found to be a modern reproduction on the following grounds, Although the coin has inscriptions and obverse/reverse designs which are faithful to the originals, there are  problems when you examine the coin closely: the combination of obverse  (EC-1ii) and reverse (CR-G) type seen on this coin isn't seen in the Cuerdale hoard (which is a large sample) the letter forms are quite scruffy…

A modern copper alloy 10 Reis coin from Brazil (under Portuguese rule), dating circa AD 1830 - 1835.  It is probable that this was a 20 Reis coin that has been counter-stamped with a 10 during the devaluation of the coinage in 1835. The obverse is heavily worn, only the counter-stamped number 10 is visible. The reverse shows boughs flanking crowned arms of Brazil. [IN HOC SIGN]O VINCES surrounding. A fragment of a modern copper alloy cash coin of the Chinese Jiaqing period dating to AD 1796 - 1820.  Unknown mint.  About a third of the coin remains with the first character surviving.  Measurements: diameter 20.37mm, weight 0.97g. The coin was issued by Emperor Jiaqing who ruled between AD 1796-1820. The coin has the remains of the characteristic square hole in its centre which could be used to string the coins. The reverse of the coin is worn with no surviving characters. Mint unknown.
