A copper-alloy Roman brooch of Mackreth Type British Plate 3.b.1 dating from AD 80 - 250. The brooch is oval in plan and has a central zone with a raised edge. The zone is now empty and would have contained enamel or a glass inset. The outer zone is gilded and was probably stamped. The back is plain and retains a single lug for the missing, probably sprung, pin. A lug opposite is al that remains of the catchplate. Measurements; Length 25.8mm, width 21.0mm, thickness 6.2mm, and weight 4.2g. See Mackreth number 10842 on page 161 and plate 107.

A fragment of copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. It is the central disc from a fantail type Trumpet brooch which fits into Mackreth's TR 4.1a group. The head and foot of the brooch are missing leaving only the central disc. The disc has a central circular area decorated with six cells of alternating red and blue enamel, surrounded by a groobe, and a raised rim. There are bifid side knobs. A silver annular brooch that has a semicircular cross-section frame with a constriction to one side to mount the pin. The frame is decorated with four animal heads that are arranged into two set. The first group is bordering the constriction bar with the two heads facing each other and the bar in between. A copper alloy Roman brooch, probably a form of Aucissa brooch dating from AD 43 - 75. It bow is cast in one and is mainly a flat sheet. The head rolls forward to hold a copper alloy axis bar with a slot for the missing pin. The upper bow tapers slightly away from the head, and has faint vertical lines in the centre, but is basically a flat sheet. The lower bow is defined by five faint transverse grooves. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman plate brooch. The object is a pointed sub-oval shape. The outer face has a recessed circle in the centre with a small circular boss projecting from its centre. To one end of the reverse there is the remains of a single lug pin fitting and to the other end a catch-plate. Broken copper-alloy Roman devolved trumpet brooch of Bayley and Butcher 2004, Group C; Mackreth type TR. 1a.1a.
