A Roman copper-alloy radiate of Allectus issued AD 293-296 (Reece Period 14). VIRTVS AVG reverse type depicting a galley sailing left with mast, cabin and three or more rowers; waves. The type suggests Mint of London. RIC V, pt 2, p. 563, cf. no. 55. Mint unknown. The coin has been pierced with a circular hole, which seems to have been punched from the obverse side at the 12 o'clock position; presumably, this is a sign of reuse for suspending from a necklace or related object. This coin has been considered for Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
