A copper-alloy Roman radiate of Carausius in the name of Maximian I, dating to c. AD 291-3 (Reece Period 14), probably PAX AVGGG, Pax standing left holding branch and vertical sceptre. Mint of London, S P//MLXXI. As RIC 5, pt 2, cf. no. 34. The coin has a large central circular perforation the result of deliberate damage perhaps intended to deface the coin. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC. Reverse: PA[X AVGG?]G, Pax standing left holding branch and vertical sceptre. Mint: S P//MLXXI
