A slightly worn and corroded later 3rd-century copper-alloy Roman radiate of Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14), PAX AVG, Pax standing left holding branch and vertical sceptre. London mint, S P//MLXXI. R.I.C. V, pt 2, 98 var. Although the mintmark is known to be consistent with R.I.C. 99, the obverse legend is clearly R.I.C. 98. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC. This is a common coin.
