Silver penny of Stephen (AD 1135-1154). Cross and piles type dating to the period circa AD1150-1154. The Moneyer and Mint cannot easily be resolved but the reverse legend appears to read +REINALD:ON:G[R?]A ; in which case this is a coin of the Cambridge moneyer Reinald, previously recorded in Stephen type 7. The coin has been recorded on the Fitzwilliam Early Medieval Coin Corpus reference EMC 2019.0198.
There are two very small nicks in the periphery of the coin.
Measurements: 19.0mm in diameter, 0.5mm thick and 1.3g in weight.
