Obverse: James II on horseback, left, IACOBVS II D G MAG BRI FRAN ET HIB REX. Reverse: four crowned shields of England, Scotland, France and Ireland linked by chains, VAL 24 PART REAL HISPAN. This token was valued at one 24th of Spanish real, or one and a half farthings.

A medieval lead alloy or pewter pictorial token of 16.8mm diameter. One side has a pair of birds, possibly hawks, eagles or fighting cocks facing each other with a long cross between. The birds have hooked beaks and details of wings and feet shown, with cross hatching used to suggest the texture of feathers. The reverse has a compass-drawn quatrefoil with lenticular petals and a lozengiform centre all set on a cross hatched background.

A medieval pewter pictorial token of 15.3mm diameter. One side has a three-quarter length portrait of a bishop enthroned, wearing a single peaked mitre and robe, holding a crozier on the left and with the arm on the right raised in benediction. The reverse has an expanding arm cross with concave sides and cross hatching on the arms.

The bird has a triangular wing, decorated with parallel lines, two feet emerging below and a curved breast and long neck decorated with cross hatched lines. The head faces back over the bird to face the cross. The other side of the token has a  shield chevronny alternating cross hatched and plain chevrons to imitate a tincture.

An incomplete tin alloy James II American plantation token. These tokens were minted by John Holt in 1688, an agent for a number of tin mines who petitioned the King for the right to produce tin tokens for use in the American plantations. Such tokens have only eveer been found in England however, suggesting they were never used outside the country. A worn and bent post medieval pewter token of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603), issued circa 1574-1590. The obverse depicts a double headed eagle and the reverse a crowned rose, possibly flanked by ER. The reverse inscription is unclear, but likely to read GOD SAVE THE QUENE. Other tokens of this type have been recorded on the PAS database (e.g. LON-87200F, IOW-3AAA72 and SUR-8EBEA7) but they are uncommon. North (1991) suggested that they were normally found in London however the PAS database has a number recorded from across the country.

On one side is a Cross pattée that was originally surrounded by an inscription with only the letters EV now clearly visible. The reverse depicts a bird facing left. The token is 7.5mm in diameter, 1.3mm thick and weighs 7.21 grams
