Prehistoric notched flint flake The flake appears to be core rejuvenation flake and is cortical with remnants surviving near the distal end. Near the distal end on the opposite face is a retouched notch (13mm long). The flint is patinated pale grey and the notch appears to cut through the patination, implying secondary use of the flake.

An incomplete Acheulian flint handaxe of the Lower Palaeolithic period (c. 480,000 BP-c. 130,000 BP). The implement is sub-oval in plan and the tip is missing, apparently as a result of gellifraction. Some material has been lost on one face near the butt end. It also has a number of hair-line fractures. It has been knapped overall and the butt is evenly rounded in plan. A complete Late Neolithic hollow based flint arrowhead (c. 2500 BC-c. 2100 BC). This arrowhead is sub-triangular in plan and the barbs are of equal length. In plan, one edge is slightly convex and the opposite edge is slightly concave. The base is also concave (or hollow). It has been made from a flake and the dorsal face is completely retouched over the surface. The retouch is generally finer around the edges than in the centre. A complete small worked flint chisel of Neolithic date. It is plano-convex in form and struck from a pale grey flint with some darker brown patches. All of the surfaces have retouch and flake removal, additionally the cutting edge and top of the ridge along the upper(?) spine of the object are polished. It measures 105.94mm in length, 35.06mm in width (27.69mm in width at blade end), 22.76mm in thickness, and weighs 86.80g. This is a worked flint chisel dating to the Early Neolithic period, c.3,500-2,900 BC.

A large flint handaxe of Palaeolithic date in the Acheulian tradition. It is sub-triangular in form with a pointed oval shaped cross section and struck from flint that has a stained medium to dark brown colour. The axe has a rounded tip with triangular butt end and heavy flake scars on all surfaces. It shows signs of having been rolled whilst in the ground. This axehead measures 186mm in length, 115mm in width, 52mm in thickness and weighs 989g. It is of Lower Palaeolithic date, c.500,000-40,000 BC.

A flaked handaxe. The flint is dark grey and patinated to a glossy off-white. The flint is highly siliceous with a few patches of more chalky composition. Four flint microliths. The first is complete with a bulb of percussion. The others are snapped sections of longer blades. All are tertiary pieces with no cortex and arises from previous removals on the dorsal face. All have irregular edges which may be chips from use but none has obvious retouch apart from the first which has a possible short section of short, scalar semi-abrupt retouch at the proximal end of the right edge of the dorsal face. A worked flint trancet axe formed from pale orange/brown flint and of probable Mesolithic date. It is loosely plano-convex in form and of tranchet type, although is relatively small in size. Both faces have all over invasive retouch and one side has a marked ridged back with small areas of cortex remaining. The cutting edge is convex in form with single flake removal from each face forming the cutting edge. This axe measures 105.84mm in length, 39.62mm in width, 30.42mm in thickness, and weighs 131.85g. It dates to the Mesolithic period, c.8,300-4,500 BC.

Middle Palaeolithic handaxe this would have been cordate shaped but the tip has been truncated, this is an old break. It is bifacial worked with large flaking scars covering the ventral and dorsal sides, the is short, fine retouch along the edges. Dark brown flint with creamy patches throughout, a thin light creamy patina has formed. Nicholas Ashton from the British Museum has said 'It's probably of a type that is known as a 'bout coupe' or 'Coygan type' handaxe, which generally seem to date to between 60 ,000- 40,000 years ago.'
