Lithic implements 1) 4 Blades average size length 29mm, width 12mm, thickness 3mm. Three have one arise on the dorsal and the last has two arises, soft hammered bulb on the ventral. Two have a creamy patina, one is a grey flints with darker speckling and one is a light brown flint with creamy patches. A good example of a late Neolithic to early Bronze Age 'horseshoe' type flint scraper. From the flat platform area at the top, the sides angle downwards, creating a roughly trapezoidal top section; the lower two thirds of the implement have rounded edges. The surface of the tool is convex and has been extensively worked. Several vertical and angled flake removal scars mark a central ridge from which radiate downwards several other scars. A good example of a flint 'thumbnail' type scraper of late Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. At the top, the implement retains a portion of the flat core platform. From here the sides angle downwards and outwards, extending into a rounded bottom edge. The upper surface of the tool is convex, having been formed by the removal of a radiating pattern of narrow flakes. The majority of retouch is to the distal and right hand (as you look at it) edges. A flint End scraper of early Neolithic date. The implement has been made from a large, thick, broad flake of roughly rectangular form. At one of the two narrow ends the tool retains a portion of the flat core platform. The convex upper surface of the tool has been formed by the removal of six long flakes, scars for which remain. Most of the retouch is to the angled and rounded end, where there are much smaller flake removal scars and fine retouch along the edge. A triangular flint scraper of probable late Neolithic to early Bronze Age date. No exact parallel could be found for this piece and, although its form can be compared with that of some arrowheads of the period, it would appear to be too large to have performed this function. A pointed flint handaxe of Lower Palaeolithic (c. 500,000 - 300,000 BC) date. The tool has been made from a large flint nodule. At the butt end there remains a portion of the original cortex. The tool tapers upwards from the rounded butt, decreasing gradually in width and thickness towards the rounded point. There are several broad flake removal scars, which radiate downwards and outwards from the butt end, whilst the edges have received much finer retouching.
