A partially patinated struck flint knife of probable Neolithic or earlier date. It is oval in form, struck from a pale grey flint that is stained pale blue/grey, and has a flat striking platform and low bulb of percussion. One edge has low angled, invasive and scaled retouch, the other with steep, abrupt retouch. The entire object measures 46.19m in length, 38.71mm in width, 12.51mm in thickness, and 21.28g in weight. This is probably a flint knife rather than a scraper due to the low angled edge retouch. It is likely to be of Neolithic date (c.4000-2550 BC), although given the staini…

An unpatinated struck flint object, probably a knife. It is struck from a dark brown/black flint with small bulb of percussion, hinge fracture at the distal end. The dorsal face retains a central band of cortex running the length of the object, to either side the flake has invasive low angled and scaled retouch. It measures 46.11mm in length, 24.37mm in width, 5.86mm in thickness, and 8.79g in weight. This is a flint tool, probably a knife similar to plano-convex knives but retaining cortex on the dorsal face. It is likely to be of later Neolithic to Bronze Age date, c.2700-800 BC.

An incomplete, unpatinated bifacially worked flint knife of later Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date. It is struck from a mottled grey/brown flint and is snapped at the butt end. The knife is plano-convex in cross section, expanding from the butt end to the crescentic cutting edge. Both faces have extensive and neat flake removal with large areas at the butt end of one face and the blade end of the other that are left unworked. On one face of the cutting edge the red/brown cortex of the flint has been deliberately left in place with the opposite face neatly retouched. The entire objec…

An incomplete knapped flint fragment originating from a plano-convex knife of Early Bronze Age date, c. 2500-1500 BC. It is now preserved in fairly fresh condition with an even white and blue patina covering most of its surfaces, though the inner material (visible at its truncated end) seems to have been a dark blue colour originally. The fragment is sub-triangular in form (probably the form of the original knife itself) and plano-convex in section. Its ventral face is plain, though its dorsal surface (specifically the right dorsal edge) demonstrates directly applied invasive pressure…

The object is ovoid in form, biconvex in section and bifacially worked, narrowing at one end but seemingly complete. Both faces have shallow but well controlled retouch formed from relatively large, shallow flakes with limited edge retouch at both ends and in areas of the sides/edges. It measures 133.48mm in length, 58.99mm in width, 14.10mm in thickness, and weighs 119.52g. The form of this object suggest it is probably a dagger …
