Pale cream-buff flint possible knife fragment. Sub-triangular flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and smooth across most of the ventral surface, save where interrupted by one long flake-removal scar. Short abrupt retouch or edge-on damage follows the longest edge. The straight upper edge [as illustrated] has the smooth edge of a positive hinge fracture on one side. Overall creamy patina and rust spotting may suggest the object was subsequently incorporated into gravel. Now smooth to the touch, probably due to water-rolling. Suggested date: possibly Early to Middle Palae…

The distal, right and left hand edges have rough semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface has covering scaled flaking with a minor amount of retained cortex along the proximal right hand edge. The majority of both the ventral and dorsal surfaces are covered with recortificat…

The object is ovoid in form, biconvex in section and bifacially worked, narrowing at one end but seemingly complete. Both faces have shallow but well controlled retouch formed from relatively large, shallow flakes with limited edge retouch at both ends and in areas of the sides/edges. It measures 133.48mm in length, 58.99mm in width, 14.10mm in thickness, and weighs 119.52g. The form of this object suggest it is probably a dagger …
