A probable flint thumb nail scraper which is Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age in date. The scraper is rounded and is 22.8mm long, 20.4mm wide and 5.5mm thick. There is semi-abrupt retouch along the distal end and right hand side, and possible retouch or use wear on the left hand side. The flint is mid brown in colour and is hardly patinated.

It is oval and is damaged with a chip missing from the edge of the striking platform. It is retouched round the sides and end. The flint has uneven patination and is mid grey in colour.

A flint thumb nail scraper which dates from the later Neolithic or Early Bronze Age period. The scraper is formed on what seems to be a primary flake, with cortex covering the dorsal face. There is semi-invasive, semi-abrupt retouch on the distal end and sides. It is 16.5mm long, 19.5mm wide and 4.5mm thick. It is very patinated and the ventral face is white in colour.

A flint thumbnail scraper. This flint is a short and broad tool, following the late Neolithic transition from altering blades, to using more chunky pieces of flint with abrupt retouch. The retouch is on the sides and distal edges. It has a grey patina with some brown inclusion. It measures 15.5mm x 15.5mm x 6.7mm, weighing 1.93g. This flint is late Neolithic or Bronze Age in date. For an example see Chris Butler's 'Prehistoric flintwork', fig. 70.1,2.

A flint lithic tool; a thumb nail scraper dating from the early Bronze Age (2150 - 1500 BC). The flint is good quality, dark grey, almost black and opaque. The tool is oval and unusually thick, almost triangular in section. It is invasively worked with abrupt retouch round the entire circumference. A similar example is figure 70.9 on page 166 of Prehistoric Flintwork by Butler.
