The is a flaw through-out the flint. The bulb of percussion, striking platform, ripples of percussion and a bulb scar are all evident.

A Neolithic flint axehead. The axe dates from between circa 3500 BC to 2100 BC. The implement has been extensively knapped into a long sub-oval tapering shape. One terminal is slightly pointed, the other is rounded. Some natural cortex is visible on the surface of the flint and some flaws in the make up of the flint are also visible. The rounded butt end of the axe has been finely knapped, to form a sharp and precise cutting edge, which resembles Neolithic scraper technology. The knapping scars have formed high arrises.
