1) A waste flake, multiple blade flakes have been removed from the surface, large amount of cortex remains. The bulb of percussion and the striking platform survive, which indicate that it has been worked. Evidence of retouch, suggests this tool was used to strip bark from trees. 2) A waste flake, multiple blade flakes have been removed from the surface. Later Upper Palaeolithic flake (15,000-8,300 BC). The flake surface shows evidence cortex reforming giving an indication of the age of the flake, it is also patinated from light grey to white reflecting the deposition chalk downland. On the dorsal surface (upper face) there are arrises from previous flake removals and sign of platform preparation and at the distal end (tip) there is some natural cortex, giving a square end to the flake. The bulb of percussion can be seen on the ventral surface (lower face) and there is possible use wear on both edges. Weight: 11.69g, Length: 56.98mm,…

Five flint flakes one of them with retouch. First flake measures 65.6mm long, 40.1mm wide, 9.2mm thick and it weighs 16.94grams. It has a snap at the proximal end and down one side and a hinge fracture at the distal end. There are regular arises from previous removals on the dorsal face and short, parallel, shallow retouch at the proximal end of the right edge on the ventral face, the purpose of which is unclear as this is the blunt, snapped side. There is also small retouch and use chips on the sharp opposite edge on both sides. It is dark grey flint with medium grey patch…
