Object type: BLADE
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: Surrey
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Mesolithic flint bladelet (8300-3500 BC) weighing 2.07g. Length: 41.52mm, Width: 13.29mm, Thickness: 3.22mm. The bladelet has been snapped from a longer blade. It is a secondary flake with c. 5% cortext remaining. The proximal end of the original blade with the bulb of percussion is missing. There is no evidence of retouch and some small chips from one side could be post-deposition damage or evidence of casual use. The flint is pale grey with some mottling.

Mesolithic flint bladelet (8300-3500 BC) weighing 3.08g. Length: 44.19mm, Width: 13.04mm, Thickness: 5.40mm. The bladelet is formed from a tertiary flake with several arrises on the dorsal face showing where previous blades had been removed from the same core. There is a distinct striking platform at the proximal end but an uneven break and bulb scars have removed most of the bulb of percussion. The distal end has been snapped off; there is retouch at the distal end of the left hand side on the ventral face which has narrowed the blade at the point, suggesting the break may be deliber…

Object type: ARROWHEAD
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Surrey
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age chisel shaped flint arrowhead. The arrowhead has a rounded tang with sides that taper outwards evenly. The outer edge is straight apart form the corners that are angled back at a shallow angle. It is shaped by invasive shallow scalar retouch on both sides with more abrupt retouch at the edges; on one side this covers the entire surface, on the other there is a central unretouched area. It is 28.8mm long, 28.2mm wide and 5.8mm thick; it weighs 4.91 grams.

Object type: BARBED AND TANGED ARROWHEAD
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Surrey
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete barbed-and-tanged flint arrowhead of the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age (c. 2500 BC-1500 BC). The arrowhead is fashioned from light brown-coloured flint and has a milky white-grey patina covering its ventral and dorsal surfaces. The remains of the arrowhead consist of a tapering sub-rectangular tang and a small portion of horizontally-oriented barbs, with traces of pressure flaking shaping the sides of the tang; most of the distal end of the arrowhead is missing with an old, similarly patinated break approximately halfway up the implement. Due to the lack of coveri…

Object type: BARBED AND TANGED ARROWHEAD
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Surrey
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An nearly complete barbed-and-tanged flint arrowhead of the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age (c. 2500 BC-1500 BC). The arrowhead is fashioned from light grey-coloured flint with a small patch of milky white-patina on its ventral and dorsal surfaces. The arrowhead is sub-triangular in plan with only a small amount of one of its barbs and a small amount of the tang missing. Covering pressure flake removals are evident on both ventral and dorsal faces and the sharpened outer edges of the implement. It seems to be of the Sutton Type (cf. Butler 2005, Figs. 68-69). The arrowhead measur…

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: MESOLITHIC
County: Surrey
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A nearly complete flint knapped blade fashioned into a side scraper, probably dating to the Mesolithic period. The implement is knapped from medium brown translucent flint with some darker natural inclusions; a small area of opaque grey chert is visible on the ventral surface. Approximately 90% of the dorsal face is covered in chalky white-grey cortex and the scraping edge has been retouched with pressure flaking as well as light retouch to facilitate handling on the other lateral edge. The small bulb of percussion and conchoidal ripples are visible on the ventral face, although corte…
