Slightly brown stained unpolished flaked axehead with a modern chip showing a grey flint core. Slightly plano-convex in form with all-over working could be of Mesolithic or Neolithic date. The blade edge has large longitudinal flake scars rather than classic tranchet scars, perhaps supporting a Neolithic rather than Mesolithic date. 117.69mm, in length, 40.41mm width, 26.33mm in thickness, 134.58g in weight.

A small tranchet axe made from a large flake, 89.2mm long, 46.8mm wide and 25.9mm thick. The implement is made of dark brown flint with numerous lighter and darker cherty inclusions; about 5% cortext remains. The upper, dorsal face, has multiple arrises; at least 7 flakes had previously been removed from the core but later retouching and possible flaking from use makes an exact count difficult. The ventral, lower face, has two large facets with again multiple scars from retouching and damage; these have removed the bulb of percussion/bulb scar. The visible bulb scars and percussion wa…

Flint axe. Probable tranchet axe of Late Mesolithic date. Long, oval flaked axe with an oval cross section. Off-white flint with a heavy patina and orange iron staining. The axe is extensively flaked along both edges. The flakes are broad. The cutting edge is formed by similar broad flaking. The diagnostic transverse flake of a tranchet axe has been obscured by subsequent flaking or re-working. However, the overall …

Knapped flint implement. In shape and forming technique it appears similar Mesolithic - Early Neolithic picks although it is much smaller. It is also similar to the Mesolithic tooks known as fabricators and it was probably used to dig small holes or to work wood. It is 67.4mm long, 25.3mm wide, 16.3mm thick and weighs 29.7 grams. The implement was produced from a much larger flake that has been extensively reworked, possibly several times.
