An early Neolithic flint tool; a discoidal scraper. It has semi-abrupt retouch on the distal end and sides. It is formed on a flake of mottled grey flint with a little cortex surviving on the dorsal face. It is 33.5mm in diameter and 12.1mm thick. It weighs 12.98gm. Flint scraper with usual striking platform, bulb of percussion and scar. One half of the cutting edge has been damaged during use. This specimen has a white patina, suggesting that it has been divorced from it's archaological context for a long time.

A flint scraper of probable Neolithic to Bronze Age date, about 4000 BC - 1000 BC. The flint is a primary flake of light grey flint with a partial speckled patina. The dorsal face is covered with cortiex. It is sub-triangular in plan and in cross-section. One face is covered with long removals, with a small area of cortex surviving in the centre. The proximal end ventral face has short, sub-parallel, abrupt retouch to form a crude scraper. It is 22.8mm long, 19.9mm wide and 10.8mm thick. 3.78g.

A flint scraper of neolithic date, about 4000 BC - 2200 BC. It is formed on a flake of mottled light grey and brown flint which is not patinated. It is sub-oval in plan and has a double dorsal ridge. The distal end has short, sub-parallel, abrupt retouch forming a scraping edge. There are also some short, sub-parallel, semi-abrupt to low angle retouch removals from the right hand side, from both dorsal and ventral faces, and very fine removals form the left side, dorsal face. The scraper is 26.1mm long, 16.3mm wide and 4.2mm thick. 2.08g.

A complete flint scraper of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The object is sub-ovate in profile and bi-convex in section. The dorsal surface has retained cortex along the right hand edge and partial parallel flaking along the left hand edge. There is evidence of hinged flake removal at the proximal end. The distal, left and right hand edges contain semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is slightly convex due to s small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end, from which ripples of percussion emanate. The lithic retains some cortex, making it a secondary flake. The flint…

A complete flint semi-circular scraper of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The lithic is sub-ovate in profile and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface is slightly concave due to a large negative scar with ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end and short parallel flaking along all but the proximal edge which has been abruptly blunted. All edges have fine semi/abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is smooth and slightly convex due to a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake. The flint…

A complete flint thumbnail scraper of Neolithic date (4000-2350 BC). The object is sub-ovate in profile and concavo-convex in section. The dorsal surface has covering scaled flaking and all edges contain fine semi-abrupt retouch. There is a distinct striking platform situated at the proximal end. The ventral surface is slightly convex due to a small bulb of percussion situated at the proximal end, the prominence of the bulb has been reduced by means of a single flake removal. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake. The flint is light brown in colour with …
