A Neolithic flint possible discoidal knife fragment. The knife is sub-triangular is sub-trapezoidal in plan which has bifacially compressed. The proximal end has re-touch around the edge. It measures 24.62mm long, 32.87mm wide, 6.2mm thick and weighs 4.9 grams. The flint is dark grey/brown colour. The possible knife may date to the Neolithic period (-3500 - -2100).

A prehistoric flint knife manufactured from a long flake. The lack of invasive retouch perhaps indicates that the knife is Mesolithic rather than Neolithic or later. The flake appears to be complete, and its striking platform and bulb of percussion are clearly visible at the proximal end. Retouch has been applied to both lateral edges but is only runs the entire way down the left lateral edge (when held with the dorsal side facing). On the other edge the retouch runs down approximately two thirds of the flint with the proximal end left unretouched. The distal end terminates at a diago…

A worked / knapped flint incomplete knife of probable Early Neolithic date, circa 4000-3500 BC. Broadly rectangular in plan and sub triangular in cross section. A slight amount of cortex present indicating that the blade is formed from the secondary phase of working of the core. The flint is patinated, although some sides are more heavily patinated than others. The patination is opaque, uneven light and mid blueish grey. One edge of the dorsal face has short, scaled low angle retouch. The thicker edge of the dorsal face has long, scaled, semi-abrupt retouch which has been abraded by p…

A flint implement, likely a knife and probably Neolithic in date (4000-2350 BC). The object is formed of a secondary flake of cream coloured flint. There are some mottled patches of grey. Some of the cortex remains on the back of the knife. The blade shows signs of short retouching.

A bulb of percussion and conchoidal ripples are present on the ventral surface. Retouch is present on the end and point and can be classified as short, parallel, low angle. It measures 30.3 mm in length, 16.8 mm wide and 3.4 mm thick. It weighs 1.8 g. The bladelet is a light grey colour, with a small amount of surface patination present.

Flint possible D-shaped knife of the early to mid Neolithic (4000 to 2701 BC): In plan the knife is a sub-oval with one lateral edge being slightly straighter than the other convex lateral edge and in profile it is triangular. The flint is a dark grey/brown opaque flint with traces of cortex on the dorsal face. The dorsal surface has re-touch along the lateral edges, one edge has invasive, scaled low angled re-touch, and the other has semi-abrupt re-touch. The ventral surface has ripples, and the bulb of percussion appears to be missing, therefore the knife is incomplete. The knife ha…
