Object type: LEAF ARROWHEAD
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Warwickshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A flint leaf-shaped arrowhead (length: 27.3mm; width: 18.5mm; thickness; 5mm; weight: 2.47g). The surface of both sides has been pressure-flaked with knapping on the curved side of the lenticular cross-section , working from the centre and projecting outwards. The bulb of percussion can no longer be identified due to the flint being intensely worked all over. There is no large scale evidence of trimmed working along the edges and tips. The arrowhead is also broken at two opposite and diagonal ends.
Leaf-shaped pressure-flaked arrowheads are the high point of the earlier English Neol…

Object type: BARBED AND TANGED ARROWHEAD
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Warwickshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete knapped barbed and tanged flint arrowhead. dating to the Bronze Age from c. 1,800 - 900 BC (length: 28.7mm; width: 28.5mm; thickness: 4.3mm; weight: 4.12g). The tip, barbs and possibly the tang have all snapped off, leaving the arrowhead in a roughly triangular shape. Additionally, the artefact seems to be worked an d re-touched on one side mostly.
The high density areas of barbed and tanged arrowheads are virtually identical to the earlier leaf arrowheads, including areas around Norfolk, the North East coast and around the south west and Oxfordshire.

Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Warwickshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A tertiary debitage flake with retouch around the edges, to form an ovate scraper (tool), of Late Neolithic date (2500 BC - 1600 BC).
It is sub triangular in plan, and semi-circular in cross section. It consists of a tertiary debitage flake. Along the lower edges, there are signs of regular controlled retouch, indicating reuse as a scraper (tool). The bulb of percussion has been lost, but the point is still presnet, suggesting that it was struck at an angle. Hinge fractures are present at the base, suggesting a low quality flint was used with several natural flaws in the matrix.…

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A complete knapped lithic implement of the late Neolithic to early Bronze Age period, probably dating from c. 2400 - c. 1600 BC.
The object is probably a secondary flake removed from a larger core, and then subjected to further working, and was probably used as a scraper tool.
The object is broadly triangular in plan and broadly D shaped in section. The ventral face has two removal scars on the top right of the object, these show shallow conchoidal ripple marks radiating from the top of the scars. Shallow ripple marks suggest a soft hammer when striking. There is a U shaped remo…

A piece of flint debitage of Mesolithic to Bronze Age date (9000 BC - 1000 BC).
It is a tertiary flake in the form of a blade with a triangular cross section.
On the dorsal face two parallel flakes have been removed along the length. The flake appears to have been snapped at the proximal and distal ends. The bulb of percussion is missing and there are no conchoidal ripple marks present. The lomg edges have suffered some damage, it does not appear to be retouch. If it is then this is very crude. The blade has developed a white-grey coloured patina. …

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete Neolithic flint 'leaf' arrowhead (c. 4000 BC-c. 2350 BC).
It is difficult to establish the original shape of the arrowhead due to the proximal and distal ends being damaged and incomplete. The arrowhead has been bifacially worked from a tertiary flake. The retouch is covering, scaled and low angled. The flint is a translucent cream/brown colour.
The arrowhead measures 27. 2 mm in length, 18.6 mm in width, 3.8 mm in thickness and weighs 2.2 grams.
