Knapped flint blade. Mass: 2.8g; length: 39.3mm; width: 12.9mm; thickness: 5.7mm. Prehistoric, possibly mesolithic. Grey/off-white flint. In plan, the blade tapers to a point at one end. Sub-triangular in section. Retouch on the pointed tip and the notch near to the flat end.

An irregular knapped piece of blade-like debitage dated provisionally to the later Mesolithic period (6500-4500 BC). The debitage has a small area of cortex on the upper edge - suggesting that it has been struck from the outer edge of a core. One long edge has abrupt retouch applied with a hard hammer, although this may be a bi-product of movement within the ploughsoil. The blade measures 23.3mm length, is 13.5mm wide and 4.4mm thick; it weighs 1.27 grams.

Snapped knapped flint blade of probable later Mesolithic or earlier Neolithic date (4500 – 3500 BC). The flint is broadly sub-rectangular in plan and lentoid in cross section. The ventral (reverse) face has a distinct bulb of percussion and conchoidal fractures; a slight striking platform is present on the heel of the flake. The dorsal face show several flake scars. Long worked flint blade dating to the Mesolithic period. The blade is mid-brown in colour and displays a double dorsal ridge. There is some fine retouch along the left dorsal edge. The left ventral edge also has some fine retouch in a localised area which has created a small semi-circular notch about a third of the way up the edge from the proximal end. The piece has been labelled by the finder and has a shiny fixative on the ventral face. The blade measures 60.1mm in length, 14.3mm in width and 6.86mm in thickness.

A complete knapped flint blade, dating from the late Mesolithic – early Neolithic period, between c. 6500 – 2900 BC (length: 27.5mm; width: 16mm; thickness: 3.5mm; weight: 1.4g). On the ventral side of the artefact, there is a bulb of percussion with two eraillure scars and multiple radiating ripples or ‘lunettes’ below and running down the length of the flake towards the distal end.
