Knapped flint scraper on a re-used flake. Probably Neolithic or Bronze Age. Mass: 4.6g; length: 23.4mm; width: 22.2mm; thickness: 9.3mm. Ripples of the conchoidal fracture on the ventral face. Dorsal face is approximately 50% cortical, with semi-abrupt retouch around the edge. Brown flint is patinated other than on the retouched edges indicating that this was a re-used flake.

Five prehistoric worked flints recovered from the same area. The flints are Neolithic to early Bronze Age in date. One flint is a scraper on a flake, exhibiting retouch along both lateral edges and the distal end. It measures 31.31 mm long 26.18 mm wide, 10.05 mm thick and weighs 10.1 grams. The flint used is pale to dark grey in colour. A second flake may also have been used as a scraper, and this one also has retouch along both lateral edges and its distal end. The flint appears to have a bulb of percussion and bulb scar at the proximal end, and retouch has been applied to the distal end, applied from both ventral and dorsal faces. An irregular knapped piece of blade-like debitage dated provisionally to the later Mesolithic period (6500-4500 BC). The debitage has a small area of cortex on the upper edge - suggesting that it has been struck from the outer edge of a core. One long edge has abrupt retouch applied with a hard hammer, although this may be a bi-product of movement within the ploughsoil. The blade measures 23.3mm length, is 13.5mm wide and 4.4mm thick; it weighs 1.27 grams.
