A possibly incomplete knapped flint possible oblique arrowhead, dating to the Neolithic period between 4000 – 2200 BC (length: 35mm; width: 15mm; thickness: 5mm; weight: 2.6g). On the ventral side of the artefact, only part of the bulb of percussion remains, with faint ripples or ‘lunettes’ radiating downwards. On the dorsal side, there are no distinctive or clear arrises, although there is muiltple fine knapping across the surface, particularly down the left and right edges as well as the tip. An oblique arrowhead is an asymmetrical and sub-triangular arrowhead form, made by …

An incomplete prehistoric worked flint, possibly a Neolithic or early Bronze Age arrowhead. As the flint object is clearly broken it is difficult to determine for certain what it may once have functioned as. Invasive retouch applied to the dorsal face may suggest an arrowhead although as the ventral face is not retouched and the object is incomplete this is difficult to say for certain. The apparent shape of a tang may in fact be coincidence. The flint is a light to dark grey in colour. Find not photographed.

A Neolithich knapped flint arrowhead of leafshaped type. The arrowhead is incomplete, missing the end which would have been inserted into the shaft of the arrow. The arrowhead has been bifacially worked with invasive retouch covering both surfaces of the flint. The flint is a mottled dark-to-light grey in colour. Find not photographed.

An early Neolithic flint leaf shaped arrowhead. The arrowhead is of ogival type, with a rounded butt which tapers to a point. The arrowhead is convex, with a rounded dorsal face and a flat ventral face. Retouch has been applied to both faces of the arrowhead, although only partially, and the retouch does not cover the whole of the surface of the arrowhead as seen on the most elaborately worked examples. The arrowhead is now quite worn and the edges are not as sharp as they would once have been. The flint has a pale grey to cream patina. The piece measures 38.03 mm in length, 15.5 mm wi…

A prehistoric worked flint, probably a late Neolithic to early Bronze Age arrowhead. The flint is broken, making its precise function slightly uncertain. However, it has been finely retouched in the manner seen on many arrowheads of this period and there is a strong possibility it is a broken arrowhead. The flint is brown in colour and has been subject to retouch around all edges. It is sub-trapezoidal in plan, but presumably would have been sub-triangular in shape prior to the break. It seems likely that the tip of the arrowhead is the part that is missing, although rotating …

A prehistoric worked flint, probably a fairly crude early Neolithic leaf shaped arrowhead. The flint appears to be broken at the proximal end, missing the butt. The flake has been worked to a point at the distal end by retouch applied from the dorsal surface along both lateral edges. It is sub-triangular in plan and sub-triangular in section. The flint is a grey to pale cream in colour. It measures 24.1 mm long, 23.9 mm wide, 5.2 mm thick and weighs 3.2 grams.

A complete flint, Late Neolithic - Early Bronze Age, tanged arrowhead, 2350-1700BC. The object comprises a pointed oval blade that has been pressure flaked to shape. There are long, scaled, intrusive removals across the surface of the object to shape the piece. The cutting edges are then retouched by short, scaled removals. The piece has an assymetrical lozenge shaped cross section, with one face more triangular than the other. See also NMS-C33616 a Green, S. (1980) Sutton type A.
