A Neolithic flint tool; an end and side scraper, which appears to have been manufactured on a rounded flake. The scraper is 35.6mm long and 30.3mm wide. It is a primary flake, with cortex covering c70% of the dorsal side. The cortex is pale grey; otherwise, the flint is dark grey, with a white band in the distal part. A flint tool, a knife, probably dating from the late Neolithic. The knife is 48.3mm long, 15.1mm wide and 4.6mm thick. It is formed on a tertiary flake which is rounded at both ends. Both edges are retouched, but they are also extensively damaged. It is similar to a plano-convex knife on page 171 of “Prehistoric Flintwork” by Chris Butler (2005), but is less invasively worked. The flint is an opaque and patinated brownish grey colour.

There is steep retouch on all but the proximal end, though it is more invasive on the left side. The flint is a glossy deep brown colour.

A flint fragment of a core. It is probably a two-platform core, with knapping on the dorsal side but not the ventral. The flint has a small piece of cortex remaining on the proximal edge. It measures 20.4mm x 19.2mm x 6.9mm, weighing 3.69g. This crude core flake seems to have been discarded after only a few knaps. This is typical of the later Neolithic to early Bronze Age when, generally speaking, less care was taken with the raw material.

A late Mesolithic flint point. This example seems abnormally long and contains fine retouch on both the dorsal and ventral face, along the lateral and also the distal (point) end, where a notch has been taken out to create the sharper end. This microlith is strange also due to the presence of cortex on the left lateral edge. It measures 59.3mm x 13.4mm x 4.5mm, weighing 5.02g. For example, see Butler 2005, Fig. 37-1.

The flint is dark brown coloured and is translucent with some small patches of patination and dark coloured natural inclusions. It is a tertiary flake and is sub-rectangular in plan and trapezoid in section with a convex dorsal face. The flint has minimal short, scaled, semi-abrupt, soft hammer retouch on each side which has been carried out from the dorsal face. It is 32mm long x 15.5mm wide x 5.9mm thick. Weight 3.03g.

A flint core of Early Mesolithic date, about 9000 BC - 8000 BC. It is formed on a nodule of dark grey (East Coast?) flint with cortex surviving on one face and on part of the narrower end. It is a cylindrical core with a D-shaped straiking platform, broad blade removals on 75% of the sides, and tapering to a point at the end opposite the striking platform. The removals are parallel and uni-directional. It is 61.5mm long, 36mm wide and 25.7mm thick. 74.53g.

A flint barbed and tanged arrowhead dating from the Late Neolithic or Bronze Age period, about 2400 BC - 1000 BC. It is formed on a tertiary flake of mottled grey flint and is not patinated. It has invasive, scaled, low angle retouch on both faces. Both barbs appear to be complete, but one is shorter than the other. The long one has a rounded end, and the short one a pointed end. The tang is wide and has a gently curved base. The arrowhead is 33.2mm long, 24mm wide and 6mm thick. 3.44g.
