Small flint waste flake / debitage probably dating from the Neolithic period (3500 - 2100 BC). The flake is broadly sub-triangular in both plan and profile. It has number of regular facets (caused by flaking) on the upper (dorsal) face of the flake. There is no evidence of cortex (the rough outer skin of the flint nodule) present on either face. This is most probably the remains of a thumbnail scraper from the Neolithic period. There is some remaining evidence of a platform at the proximal end. The dorsal surface carries several ridges and negative scars. The ventral surface shows limited evidence of a diffuse bulbar scar. One edge appears to have been re-touched but due to the poor quality of the flint this is not definite. The material is dark brown with small light grey inclusions throughout. There is one very small piece of surviving cortex.

A lithic flake/implement of probable Neolithic origin. This artefact has the look of a blade, with the remnants of a diffuse bulb of percussion and the conventional dorsal/ventral surfaces. The dorsal surface has a number of negative scars from earlier removal with fissures and abundant concoidal scarring to both long edges. The long edges are, however, quite steep and there is also retouch on the ventral surface at the distal end. The dorsal side has four distinct radial dorsal scars from the central ridge. A small collection of flint debitage consisting of two secondary lumps and a small tertiary flake. The larger lump weighs 19.9gm and measures 28.4 x 27.8 x 27.5 the mid size artefact weighs 5.3gm and is 30.81 x 23 x 7.8 leaving the small flake at 0.9gm and measuring 25.6 x 8.66 x 4.5. The material has a pale cream colour with numerous inclusions of both lighter and darker material.

This flint object has the characteristics of a Neolithic knapped tool, probably an edge scraper. The proximal end has a small percussion platform, a percussion bulb and a single bulbar scar with fine radiating fissures running down the ventral side. In side view, the tool has a distinct conchoidal curve, from where it has been struck from the core. There is no evidence of rippling on the ventral surface.
