This is a particularly interesting example of a tertiary lithic tool, or interior flake, lacking as it does any sign of the cortex. The material is opaque mottled pale cream and has a fine microcrystalline structure with apparent mineral inclusions; the surface has the waxy lustre of chalcedony. The ventral surface exhibits a delaminated or, exfoliation area which may be the result of a fault within the structure of the material. Four struck or knapped snapped blades of later Mesolithic date (6500-3500 BC). All four blades vary in size and shape. However, all are sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross section. Most of the blades consist of a bulb of percussion and all show conchoidal fractures. One piece (the light pink coloured blade) is formed from chert and is much coarser in matrix than the others. Small waste blade, core trimming flake, of late Mesolithic date (6500-3500 BC). The blade has a small area of cortex on the outer edge and shows several distinct facets where previous blades have been removed. There is no retouch present. It is a mid- grey colour with a slightly milky whit coloured patina. It measures 21.4mm length, 10mm width is 4.4mm thick and weighs 0.99 grams

Multi faceted core which has been worked in several directions from opposing striking platforms to produce small blades or microliths of late Mesolithic date (6500-3500 BC).. The core is probably derived from a riverine pebble and a small area of outer cortex is present on one face. Two striking platforms are present from which blades have been removed, one of these has a series of hinge fractures associated with it and it is suggested that this may be the older face. Large piece of raw flint / chert like material from which a series of blades and flakes have been removed. It is not a traditional core and is likely to represent a piece of raw material rather than waste. From the style of working it would suggest an early Neolithic date (c. 3500-2500 BC), with relatively large blade like flakes being removed. It measures 27.5mm length, 17.9mm width, is 4.2mm thick and weighs 1.89 grams. Evidence for retouch or secondary working can be seen only on the wide end edge of the flake.
