A small Mesolithic tranchet axehead made from a dark grey flint which has a heavily recorticated or patinated white surface resulting from prolonged exposure to calcareous sediments. The cross section is D shaped and asymmetrical with one curved long side refined with flaked removals and one flattened side which is less coherently worked and retains a small patch of cortex towards the rear.
