Flint implement probably dating to the late Neolithic or early Bronze Age. The object is sub-oval in plan and D-shaped in cross-section. The object appears to have been reused. The rounded end has been polished however it is difficult to say if that has come through use of this piece or if it was there before this piece was taken off the parent. On balance there look to be several thin blows from the wide broken end that terminate at the polished end as if the polish higher up has been finely knapped off. If that is the case and it was a polished implement then the original is probabl…

Flint scraper of an inner flake dating from the prehistoric period (c.8300 - 701 BC). It is oval in plan with a ridge running horizontally across the dorsal side, just lower than the half-way point. This ridge gives it a triangular cross-section. The flint is white (indicating recortication - physical alteration of the skin because of acid rain) widening at one end (8.3mm) and thinning at the other (3.61mm), which ends with a slight point. The flint demonstrates steep retouch along one side. Dating flint flakes when found out of a stratified layer is difficult unless …

The snapped edge is thickest (17.46mm) and the arrowhead then narrows towards the other long side (8.04mm). The longest edge is smooth and flat indicating it has been snapped. The very tip of the point is also missing but it appears the bottom line is complete. It is made from a light-grey flint with some white and dark grey inclusions.
