A central ridge is present on the dorsal (upper) face, with signs of retouch along the edges. The ventral (lower) face demonstrates signs of concoidal ripples. The bulb of percussion and striking platforms are missing. The blade is a light grey / dark beige colour, with little surface patination. The blade measures 52.84mm length, 18.04mm width, 4.93mm thick and weighs 4.9 grams.

Retouched flint blade, dating to the later Mesolithic. The blade has some fine retouch along one edge and a protruding knop at the corner of this edge; this is possibly a worn burin or may indicate that the piece is a blank for an arrowhead which was never finished. The ventral face is not worked. The blade weighs 2.01g and measures 33.49mm in length, 15.71mm in width and 4.76mm in thickness.

A complete flint notched blade of later Mesolithic to early Neolithic date (7000-2700 BC). The lithic is sub-sagittate in profile and plano-convex in section. The dorsal surface has multiple negative scars creating a concave mesial portion. The distal edge has two outer spurs creating a central notches aspect. The proximal edge has been abruptly blunted, all other edges contain rough abrupt to semi-abrupt retouch. The ventral surface is flat with some minor negative scars along the distal left hand edge and a moderate amount of cortex retained at the proximal end. Making this a second…

An incomplete knapped lithic implement of early Neolithic date, circa 4000 - 3500 BC. The implement is broken at both terminals however as its length is more than twice the width and the sides are more or less parallel it is identifiable as a blade. It is formed from a tertiary flake which is rectangular in both plan and section. The ventral surface is smooth with faint ripples of percussion. The distal surface has had three long flakes removed and displays abrupt, short, sub-parallel flaking to the left edge mesial portion. The flint is a light orange-brown colour. The implement …

A complete knapped lithic implement of Mesolithic date, circa 9000 - 4000 BC. The implement is a blade formed from a secondary flake which is sub-rectangular in section and triangular in plan. The implement tapers from the flat end to a point with minimal retouch present on the sides. The bulb of percussion and ripples of percussion are present on the ventral surface and the dorsal surface is irregular due to further flake removal displaying negative scars and corresponding arises. Mesolithic flint technology was driven by the production of blades which are defined as implements wi…
