Polished flint axe. An unusually thin and narrow example . Flint patinated greyish white with sparse spotty iron staining. The polish is confined to a small area of the curved cutting edge, which has been damaged in antiquity, and to the lateral edges leading up to the pointed butt, which as a result has a chisel edge orthoanol to the plane of the cutting edge. Prior to polishing one of the edges has been prepared by the removal of two long narrow flakes, struck from the butt end. The chisel edge shows slight damadge, probably from use-wear.
